We don't collect personal data. No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts. Anything you type into the Address Checker stays in your browser and is never sent to us. If you want the full, honest detail — including the boring bits about web hosting — it's below.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-ups. There's nothing to register for anywhere on this site.
- No cookies. We don't set any, tracking or otherwise.
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no heatmaps, no visitor tracking of any kind.
- No ads or ad networks. Nothing on this site is monetised by tracking you.
- No affiliate links. We don't earn anything from where you click.
- No selling or sharing data — because we don't collect any to sell or share.
The Address Sanity Checker, specifically
The wallet address and coin/wallet type you enter are processed entirely by JavaScript running in your own browser. They are never transmitted to PlainCrypto, never logged, never stored anywhere by us. Close the tab or refresh the page and it's gone.
The one thing your browser does fetch is a small, publicly-auditable code library (js-sha3) from a third-party code host (cdnjs), used to run the Ethereum checksum maths. That's a code file being downloaded to make the tool work — not your data being sent out. No address or coin information is included in that request.
What does technically exist
To be fully honest rather than just say "we collect nothing" and leave it vague:
- Standard web hosting logs. Like virtually every website on the internet, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical request data (IP address, browser type, date/time) for security and operational purposes. We don't access these logs to track individuals, don't combine them with anything else, and PlainCrypto adds nothing on top of this default hosting behaviour.
- Google Fonts. The site's typefaces are loaded from Google's font CDN, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch them — standard for most modern websites, and subject to Google's own privacy policy, not ours.
If that ever changes
If PlainCrypto ever adds something that does collect data — an email list, a tip jar, a contact form — this page will be updated first, in plain English, explaining exactly what's collected and why, before that feature goes live. We'll only ever collect what's actually needed for the thing you're using.
Your rights
Since we don't currently hold any personal data about you, there's nothing to access, correct, or delete. If that changes in future, standard UK GDPR rights will apply to anything we do collect, and this page will explain how to exercise them.
